"I remember the first time I ever saws Coby. It was freshman year at the ND-Hightstown freshman basketball game. I remember him lighting up the invisible ND team, and hitting nearly every three pointer he took. ND ended up winning, but that was the first time I saw the competitive fire in Coby. When he came to ND, I continued to watch this fire in everything he did. I was so happy when senior year we were in 'AP' gym & we got to play together every day. Coby was a great kid, a commpassionate kid & although we weren't the greatest of friends, it was clear he cared about our friendship and all of his friendships. I love Coby I love Coby & I will never forget him."

"You brought a light & a smile to me every day  <3."

Notre Dame students provided Coby's family with a box of rememberances.  Here are some excerpts from those memories:

"Coby was honestly the best person to be friends with. We spent a lot of time together playing soccer. He always had a smile on his face and was always ready to make someone laugh if they needed it. If you ever needed anything he would put others in front of him, that's what made him so great. I'm happy I had the chance to meet & spend time with him."

"He never failed to make me laugh & smile..."

"Coby was living proof that you don't need to let your feelings get the best of you. I will never truly know what was going inside his head-nobody will. We are all alike in the fact that we are the only ones who know what it's like to be us. Despite what he was going through mentally, he was determined to keep shining his light onto others. Your son, your brother, our friend will never leave our hearts. I always had a longing to know him better-for he seemed to love life and live it to the fullest. I envied his blissful joy. In his death I have learned that no matter how happy or sad somebody may seem, we are all human-all affected greatly by our emotions. May he rest in peace, and I hope he has found the solace he needed on the other side-in the arms of God"

"He told me in gym one day to love myself before anyone else loves me. I don't think people realize he changed my life with his smile, hugs and always positive energy. Fly High Coby. Love ya 'kiddo' forever and always."
